Vidya Balan says that in order to avoid being typecast, she will take on sexy roles as well as she wants to prove her versatility as an actress.
Vidya became a household name with her debut in Bollywood last year in Parineeta – a blockbuster movie about relationships and love in which she played a girl from a poor family.
''It's a compliment if people remember my simplicity because that means they liked the simple girl that they saw in 'Parineeta','' an agency’s report quoted Vidya as saying.
Vidya further added that while she was sure she could take on sexy roles as well, she wanted to prove her versatility as an actress.
''But there is a lot between hot-and-sexy and simple, which I also want to explore,'' she said.
Vidya said she likes doing her own research while preparing for a movie, she even dropped in to a couple of radio stations for the sequel of Munnabhai MBBS titled Lage Raho Munnabhai opposite Sanjay Dutt .
''I play a radio jockey ... I went to a few radio stations to get the feel of what it is like to be an RJ,'' she said.
So don’t be surprised if you see Vidya in a sexy and glamorous role.
