Some may find it hard to believe but the lissome belle is an avid soccer enthusiast. She saw almost all the matches played during the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Germany.
Reports have it that Urmila used to be up all night watching the matches on TV. In fact, some people in the industry began wondering whether she was seeing someone. But Urmila was at home, with her friends, seeing the unexpected twists and turns that the great soccer event in Germany took with the ousting of the South American giants Brazil and Argentina in the quarterfinals. She thinks Italy played very well against Germany and ousted the hosts in the semi-finals in “a very aggressive playing style.” Urmila is also aware of the fact that the usual Italian style of football is to play defensively. True indeed, given the fact that Italy conceded very few goals in the entire tournament. But for the finals in Berlin, Urmila, like many others, was rooting not for Italy but for France. And the reason was – Zinedine Zidane. Urmila says she is an absolute fan of Zizou because he maintains his “calm and cool” in the frenzy of the game. Quite ironically, Zizou’s illustrious career ended with a Red Card when he was sent off for head-butting an Italian player. Experts believe Zidane’s sending off was the turning point of the match for Italy which then won the cup in a penalty shootout that broke the ominous Italian jinx of losing in the penalties.
