Bollywood celebrities have expressed shock and condemnation at the serial blasts in Mumbai trains that claimed nearly 200 lives on Tuesday.

“We won’t bow down. You can’t dent the spirit of Mumbai,” is the common message coming from the film industry in Mumbai.

Aamir Khan described the terror attacks as cowardly, while Priyanka Chopra saluted the resilience of the city. Raveena Tandon said Mumbai was a lion-hearted city, while filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said we should give a befitting reply to the perpetrators of such dastardly attacks. Diana Hayden even donated her blood at a camp, while other stars have openly expressed their willingness to help the victims in whatever way possible. The entire film industry is united to do its bit for Mumbai in the city’s hour of need.

An ANI report quotes Aamir Khan as saying: “What has happened is really sad and tragic. The people behind this (attack) are just showing how cowardly they are. The authorities should take the strictest action against them. We should bounce back, but I don't think that we should forget the tragedy.”

Preity Zinta says she was not able to sleep the whole night after watching the images of the blast victims on the TV channels.

Priyanka Chopra told a channel: “I think any other city in the world would show the kind of togetherness that Mumbai shows when tragedy strikes them.”

Priyanka lauded the efforts of common people in Mumbai.

“When the tragedy struck, it was the common people more than government officials or the cops that looked after and took the bodies and the people to the hospital,” she said.

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar told news channels: “We have to fight! We have to give an answer to all the people who are trying to do such acts over here.”

The same sentiment was expressed by Fanaa director Kunal Kohli . He said: “I think every Mumbaiker should go out to office, school and college. We shouldn’t sit and home.”

Actor Randeep Hooda believes the terror attacks won’t intimidate Mumbai. He said: “This latest attack shouldn't and won't intimidate Mumbai...Mumbai's human spirit is indomitable.”

Shabana Azmi and her husband Javed Akhtar condemned the attacks in strong words. They said: “Acts of terror are acts of cowardice…Let's resolve to fight terror. We need to give our full empathy and compassion to the victims.”
