Perizaad steps out of the lesbian movie

It was reported by us on June 29 that Perizaad Zorabian had accepted the lesbian act in ‘Kiran Meets Karen’, but now we hear that she has walked out of the role.

Perizaad Zorabian of Joggers Park fame, who also acted in Mumbai Matinee and few other movies, was to work in a US-Indian movie ‘Kiran meets Karen’, revolving around lesbian characters. But now Perizaad has stepped out of the movie wherein she herself had agreed to play a lesbian character.

A few days back, Zorabian was “excited” about her role in the movie. But she is now all fizzed out maybe due to controversies revolving around same sex movies in the past.

Zorabian told the press, “I am leaving the movie because of my personal inhibitions about playing a lesbian and there is no other reason behind it. It would be unfair to the character and the project if I have to play the role half-heartedly.”

The US-based director of the movie Manan Katohora said he is having no ill will against her. He respects her decision.

The director is quoted as saying: “I respect her decision, although I would have loved her to play Kiran in the movie.”

The director thinks that the controversies faced by some lesbian movies like Girlfriend and Men Not Allowed from some Religious Hindu groups can be a reason for scaring other actors from doing films on issues like this.
