HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Revenue sharing row affects release of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'02nd Sept 2006 16.42 IST By Agencies Differences over revenue sharing between theatre owners and distributors of the Sanjay Dutt starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai has meant the movie has been released in select multiplexes across the country. "We did not reach a mutually acceptable agreement on the share of revenues. We felt that keeping in mind the entire territory of PVR Cinemas (a multiplex chain), it would not be feasible for us to accept their conditions," Ashish Saxena, PVR Cinemas' head of programming, said in Mumbai. 
However, other multiplex chains such as Inox and Fame Adlabs have decided to screen the film, after their representatives reached an agreement with the distributors and producers of the film. "We have decided to screen the film in all Inox multiplexes. We reached an agreement last night and the movie will be screened with as many as ten shows in Mumbai," Inox sources said in Mumbai. Also starring Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan , ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’, which is the sequel to the 2003 superhit Munnabhai MBBS , was released all over the country on Friday. Saxena admitted that PVR would face a loss of Rs 10 lakhs per multiplex a day all across the country, but said since a mutual agreement was not reached, hence there was no feasibility of showing the movie. The last time such an impasse took place during the release of Yashraj Films ' Fanaa starring Kajol and Aamir Khan . However, industry sources said ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ was not considered a premium product as ‘Fanaa’ and hence multiplexes were not willing to pay as much for the film.
