The angst and simmering intensity of Sunny Deol was the USP of ‘Ghayal’, a superhit film in the early 1990s.
Now filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who assisted director Rajkumar Santoshi during the making of ‘Ghayal’, is planning to make a sequel of the film.
It is learnt that the idea to make the sequel was given by Deol himself when Dhulia approached him for an offer to act in a period film. Dhulia is fully convinced that the movie’s sequel will match up to the tastes of movie buffs even though more than fifteen years have passed since ‘Ghayal’ released.
Sunny Deol will again play the lead role in the sequel and Dhulia is hopeful of signing Om Puri as well. Puri played an intelligent cop in the original flick.
Dhulia is presently working on the film’s script. After the writing is over, he will start signing other actors as well.
In the sequel, the hero will once again fight the injustice, but the issue would be different from the one in ‘Ghayal’.
