HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD When Shiney Ahuja wept real tears18th Sept 2006 16.00 IST By Nikhil Kumar Shiney Ahuja sure has the makings of a true actor. One of the most promising newcomers in Bollywood, Shiney has got a comfortable foothold in Hindi film industry after just a few films. Be it ‘Hazaron Khwaishein’ or his last release Gangster , Shiney has shown more than enough glimpses of his acting potential.
And recently, while shooting for his next film Zindagi Rocks , Shiney impressed the movie’s director Tanuja Chandra when he shot for a weeping scene without using glycerine. The film has Shiney playing a doctor who falls in love with a singer, played by Sushmita Sen . Before shooting the scene, Tanuja asked Shiney to use glycerine but he refused. Shiney rather took his time to prepare himself mentally, he identified with the situation that was depicted in the scene and only then he stepped before the camera. And when the scene was shot, Shiney got so immersed in his character that he wept real tears. Shiney had previously done a similar weeping scene for ‘Gangster’ (the railway station sequence) without using glycerine. The actor believes that glycerine is a “tool for non-actors”. Shiney is also all praise for his co-star Sushmita Sen. He believes Sush is “an intelligent actress” who pays a lot of attention to the roles she plays. Sush and Shiney also grooved in very well during the making of the film. After a few days shoot, Sush fondly began to call Shiney ‘jaaneman’. ‘Zindaggi Rocks’ is slated to hit the theatres on September 29.
