HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' heads for Tokyo Film Festival 21st Sept 2006  14.00 IST By Agencies   Karan Johar 's magnum opus Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna has been selected for the 19th Tokyo International Film Festival beginning next month. 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' will be competing for the Best Asian Film Award under the category 'Winds of Asia'. The screening will be held on the opening day of the festival on October 21, Johar's spokesperson said in Mumbai on Wednesday. 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' was screened at the Toronto Film Festival earlier this month in the 'Gala Premiere' section reserved for blockbuster movies. Johar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan attended the screening. Till last week, 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' had done an overseas business of 12.5 million US dollar, while in India the box office performance was not overwhelming, trade sources said. Script of the film, which also starred Abhishek Bachchan , Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta , has already been included into the Oscars library.
