Bollywood stars descend on Delhi

A host of celebrities from Bollywood descended on the capital in the past few weeks for a tryst with the 'star-struck' cinegoers.

Bollywood fans in Delhi were overwhelmed by the visits of Bollywood stars like Urmila Matondkar, Kajol, Arjun Rampal, Mithun Chakraborty, Sanjay Suri, Rahul Dev, Minissha Lamba, Nisha Kothari, Preeti Jhangiani as well as filmmakers like Ram Gopal Varma, Nagesh Kukunoor and Onir.

The first week of the month saw the presence of yesteryear actor and Bollywood's 'original dancing star' Mithun Chakraborty in Delhi, along with actor Ashmit Patel , newcomer Geeta Basra and young filmmaker Aditya Datt for the premiere of their film Dil Diya Hai at Wave cinemas in Noida.

Last week saw model-turned-actor Rahul Dev in Delhi for the promotion of his latest film 'Kachchi Sadak', the last film in which the late Amrish Puri acted.

For Rahul, it was a homecoming of sorts since he has been brought up in Delhi and also received his education here.

Also making his tryst with the people of Delhi after a long time was filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma , who was here for the promotion of his latest film Shiva , touted as a remake of his 90s film of the same name.

Accompanying him were actors Mohit Ahlawat and Nisha Kothari , the film's lead pair.

The same day also saw the glamorous Urmila Matondkar , the thinking actor Sanjay Suri and director Onir arrive in Delhi for the pre-release publicity for their latest film Bas Ek Pal . This was the cast's second visit to the capital since the premiere of 'Bas Ek Pal' at the Osian's film festival of Asian cinema in July.

The bubbly and immensely talented Kajol also made a brief appearance in the capital last week in her capacity as the brand ambassador of LG.

Also witnessed in the Capital were the petite and beautiful Preeti Jhangiani and the handsome Nakul Vaid. Looking very much the traditional Indian beauty' in 'salwar kameez', Preeti was here for the music release function on Monday of her latest film 'With Luv Tumhara'. The music release event was, however, a low-key affair with two of the members of the film's cast, Pravin Dabas and Anupama Verma, not being able to make it to the function.

The stylish Arjun Rampal also had his tryst with the Delhi audience when he arrived on a brief visit to the capital on Tuesday to unveil the latest edition of the MTV Style awards.

Wednesday saw the presence of the pretty Minissha Lamba , former Miss India Gul Panag , actor Shreyas Talpade and filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor .

While Minissha was in Delhi in capacity as the ambassador of 'Café Coffee Day' to unveil their 50th outlet in the capital, Gul, Shreyas and Nagesh were here to promote their latest film Dor , which released on Friday. The film has got many rave reviews from the critics.
