Bollywood babes make style statement

Bollywood actresses too have begun to experiment with their looks.

It is difficult to recognize Ayesha Takia in her new hair-do. Gone are the long tresses and in is the new Thai haircut. Ayesha says she had long desired to get this haircut but never got a chance to. Recently, when she was shooting for a movie in Bangkok, Ayesha went shopping to a mall with her boyfriend Farhan. It was there both Farhan and Ayesha decided to have a haircut.

And when she came back to India just before the release of her movie Dor , people had hard time recognizing her. Ayesha’s co-stars in the film, Gul Panag and Shreyas Talpade , liked her new look. Ayesha says she has been told by her friends that her new hairdo accentuates her smile.

Even filmmaker Nikhil Advani , in whose film Salaam-e-Ishq Ayesha is acting, was not concerned about the continuity break. He has rather decided to use Ayesha’s new look in a song in the film.

On a different front, Bipasha Basu too has been sporting an entirely new, younger look for quite some time. She has cut her long hair to shoulder-length for a role in Abbas Mastan’s forthcoming thriller that stars Saif Ali Khan.

Bipasha says her beau John Abraham really liked her new hairdo. She plans to keep this look for some more months.

Even Amrita Arora has now dared to cut the long tresses that she loved so much. Amrita says she loved her long hair and never cut them more than an inch in the past. But when her hair stylist Kanta Motwani recently insisted that she go for a complete change of look, Amrita agreed. In fact, Amrita’s sister Malaika Arora could not initially believe that Amu had actually put her long hair under the scissors. She even pulled her hair to make sure Amu was not wearing a wig.

And if all these style statements are not enough, wait till Siddharth Anand’s movie Tara Rum Pum hits the theatres. Rani Mukherjee ’s new chic look in the film will surprise many of her fans.
