It took Shah Rukh Khan five days to get his dance steps right for the song “Khaike Paan Banaras Wala” in Don .
While the remixed version of the song is getting mixed reactions from the music buffs, the song’s choreography, directed by Saroj Khan, has been liked by almost everyone who has seen it in the film’s promos.
Saroj Khan has choreographed Shah Rukh in “Khaike Paan Banaras Wala” after a long gap. It is SRK’s favourite Farah Khan who usually choreographs for the star.
And Sajoj Khan says it has indeed been quite a daunting task to conceive completely new dance steps for the song that has been one of the most famous numbers of all time on the Indian silver screen.
For Shah Rukh learning the steps choreographed by Saroj Khan for the song in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don’ was no easy feat either.
It is learnt that SRK practiced for five consecutive nights (roughly eight hours each night) to get the steps right. The superstar did not ask any steps to be changed or modified for his comfort.
And when the song was shot on SRK, Priyanka Chopra and some kid artists, everyone had a blast.
Like in the original movie Don (1978) , the song is set in a situation when Vijay and Roma (SRK and Priyanka) try to keep the villains and cops off their trail.
