“I tried that and I don’t know how far I am successful, I think people will tell me that,” Priyanka said of the role in the film that stars Shah Rukh Khan in the title role – played by mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan in the original.
Talking to CNN-IBN on Saturday, 24-year-old hotshot actress said she loved playing the tough chick, action and all.
Defending the need to make the sequel, Priyanka said it was done for all Don lovers and Don fans: “It is a presentation to the generation of today a film which was appreciated by the generation before us so much that it has become a classic. And I hope this will happen to this Don as well.”
Saying it was tough for any actress of today to even try and emulate veteran actress Zeenat, Priyanka said it was no easy task stepping into a role for a film that went on to became a classic.
“She (Zeenat) was fantastic in the film. It was a cult classic and everybody loved her in that film. It’s too much for me to aim at.”
