Akshay Kumar has been receiving huge critical acclaim for his role of a geek turned-spiffy- astronaut Agastya Rao in Jaaneman .
Since the release of the film that also stars Salman Khan and Preity Zinta , Akshay has got his hands full with loads of appreciation for his perfect portrayal of a curly haired geek with soda-rimmed glasses.
Akshay, indeed has, brought to life, a memorable character in a subtle manner with all the nuances.
Besides his electrifying screen presence, Akshay has played a role against type, deftly tackling an unconventional role.
The critics are raving about his performance in the film, as one reviewer puts it, ''Akshay as the geek-turned-dapper nice guy, is fabulous and the most endearing character in the film.''
In fact, sources also say that mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan personally called up Akshay in Dubai, where he is shooting for Welcome and complimented him for his performance.
Akshay has been receiving a lot of SMSs from the industry admiring his performance in 'Jaaneman'.
