Mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan will release lyricist Sameer ’s biography on October 28 at a glittering function being planned at Bhaidas Hall in suburban Mumbai.
The biography titled 'Sameer - A Way With Words' is authored by eminent writer Derek Bose.
The day also happens to be Sameer’s father, late lyricist Anjaan’s 75th birth anniversary. This year is also very significant for Sameer as he has completed 25 years as a songwriter and has already crossed 500 films, a release in Mumbai on Wednesday said.
The function will be attended by leading film stars and eminent personalities, including producers, directors, music composers and singers who have collaborated with Sameer over the past quarter-century, the release added.
A three-hour musical programme showcasing Sameer’s repertoire in various genres of film music will be presented on the occasion.
Prominent playback artistes and Sa Re Ga Ma winners, such as Bela Shende and Abhijeet and Shreya Ghoshal will entice a live audience with Sameer's melodies.
A double CD pack of hit songs portraying Sameer's versatility and lyrical range will also be released on the occasion.
Till date, the only lyricist ahead of Sameer is the late Anand Bakshi , who wrote for 622 films during his tenure of 45 years.
