Bollywood’s young director Anurag Basu is returning to his mentor again for his next venture.
After a string of movies with Vishesh Films (Bhatt’s banner), Basu switched to UTV for his upcoming movie Metro , thereby leading to rumours of his rift with the Bhatts.
But such gossiptalk can now be laid to rest as Basu is again working under the Bhatt camp for Suicide Bomber , a thriller based on London tube-train bombings in July last year.
The film tells the story of a British-Asian Muslim youth who becomes disillusioned by the post 9/11 world and the treatment meted out to Muslims and ultimately joins a suicide squad to seek justice.
According to Mahesh Bhatt , the film does not sympathize with a suicide bomber but rather shows how society can bring about a change of heart in the people who think they have been wrong done by.
The film will launch Bhatt’s son Rahul Bhatt in the main lead. Anurag says he loves to work with newcomers and Rahul fitted best in the lead role for this flick.
“We had thought of casting him in Murder and Gangster . But he did not suit those kind of films”, Anurag is quoted as saying.
The writing part of the film will be handled by Mahesh Bhatt. According to Anurag, his knowledge about London bombings was not enough as it was acquired from Internet. So he asked Mahesh Bhatt to help him.
