A search conducted by the Income Tax Department on Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan 's entertainment company Red Chillies Entertainment has revealed alleged violation of Tax Deducted at Source.
There has been a violation to the extent of Rs 10 lakh and the exact amount is being worked out, IT sources said in Mumbai on Saturday.
SRK and officials of his company were not immediately available for comment.
The IT officials had on November 23 carried out a survey of Red Chillies at SRK's premises in Bandra in Mumbai.
Red Chillies, of which SRK and his wife Gauri are directors, is a production house and has produced Main Hoon Na and Paheli , in which SRK was in the lead roles.
The company, while hiring studios for shooting, allegedly did not deduct TDS while making payments in some cases, sources said.
In other cases, TDS was either not deducted from the salaries of employees or was not paid to the IT department, the sources added.
