Former numero uno actress Madhuri Dixit says she is anxious about balancing her career with caring for her young sons while making a comeback to Bollywood early next year.
Madhuri’s comeback film, likely to be released by mid-2007, will be produced by Yash Chopra and directed by talented cinematographer Anil Mehta .
No details were available about the script or other members of the cast.
Madhuri told a leading newspaper that while her children were important, she needed to think of the world outside her home.
“I'm extremely nervous,” the newspaper quoted Madhuri as saying on Wednesday.
“My children are the most important part of my life. But they are growing and need to be a little independent.”
Madhuri said she was comfortable with Chopra, whom she described as “sensitive to the schedules of an actor who is a wife and mother.”
Madhuri, who has been keeping in touch with latest trends and fads in Bollywood, has begun working out in gym to lose the extra weight that was apparent during her stage performance at Filmfare awards early this year.
Madhuri has also been doing Yoga for at least half hour every day and she’s keeping her diet in check.
Besides all this, she has been regular in dance practices during her private time. Dance, in Madhuri’s opinion, is the best exercise for body.
Madhuri says she won’t disappoint her fans in her comeback film.
Madhuri had stopped acting after marrying Dr. Sriram Nene – a U.S. based Indian surgeon in 1999.
Madhuri’s last hit movie, released in 2002, was Devdaas , in which she played a courtesan in a saga of doomed love that also starred superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai .
