After making successful adaptations of Shakespeare's Macbeth and Othello as Maqbool and Omkara , filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj wants to do some original work.
It is not a good news for those waiting for Vishal’s trilogy on Shakespearean works. The filmmaker has shelved the idea of making the adaptation of ‘Julius Caesar’.
Bharadwaj seems to have decided to not make the adaptation for which he was considering Sanjay Dutt to play the tragic hero. According to Bharadwaj, he wants a break from Shakespeare.
He has apparently realized that by doing adaptations he is restricting his own creativity and depending on readymade scripts.
Meanwhile, Bharadwaj is in news again for his children’s film ‘Chhatri Chor’ which is inspired from Ruskin Bond’s story ‘Blue Umbrella’.
It has been quite some time since Vishal made this film but could not release it. Till now the film has been making rounds at international film festivals only, but now there is a strong chance that it will release early next year.
The film stars Pankaj Kapur and child artist Shreya.
