And now the big scoop is Sunil Shetty’s next co-production Raaste which will revolve around car racing. The movie will star Abhishek Bachchan , Aishwarya Rai and John Abraham in the main roles. Sikander Kher (son of Anupam Kher) also plays an important role in the film.
Shetty unraveled his plans for the movie at the GIFA in Kuala Lumpur recently. He said the movie would be the first of its kind for Hindi cinema. The film will reportedly feature a number of car races for which the actors will apparently have to train first.
On a different front, John, Bipasha, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani are training in football under the guidance of former English Premier League player and football choreographer Andy Ansah for Vivek Agnihotri’s movie ‘Goal’ which will be shot from January in stadiums in UK.
Speaking of sports, how can the three Deols be left behind? Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol will be seen as boxers in director Anil Sharma’s film Apne . Dharmendra plays their coach. The film has already been shot in Thailand, Australia and India.
And if these films are not enough, Soham Shah (director of ‘Kaal’) is also said to be thinking of making a sports-based film.
So many filmmakers trying sporty subjects may not necessarily be the herd mentality. It may be a genuine attempt to break the stereotype.
