Actor Sanjay Suri will play a pivotal role in a movie revolving around cricket.
Time to add another name to the list of sports-based films. The movie, titled Salaam India – Lets Bring the Cup Home, will be about four small-town boys who struggle to make it big in the sport. The movie tells the tale of underdogs and their indomitable spirit to excel.
Sanjay Suri plays the coach of a cricket academy. Others in the cast include boys who play competitive cricket in the under-16 team.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Subhash Kapoor.
Although Sanjay Suri follows cricket in real life, he is not an ardent fan. So he had some trouble getting his techniques of the game right. On that front, the movie’s director Subhash Kapoor, a cricket fanatic, helped Suri.
The film holds out the message that young players from small towns have the fighting spirit to make it to the international cricket. All they need is guidance.
