In last two years Vidya Balan was seen in one movie a year. But 2007 will see her in as many as five films.
To her great fortune, the two films Vidya has acted in so far have gone on to become box-office hits. Her debut in Parineeta won her the best newcomer award. And she tasted her second success in 2006 with superhit Lage Raho Munnabhai .
Those who wish to see Vidya in more films won’t have anything to complain about in 2007. In January itself, the demure damsel will be seen in two films.
She plays a handicapped woman in Mani Ratnam’s Guru . Although her role in the film is not big, she still plays an important part. Then, two weeks later, on the Republic Day weekend, Vidya will be seen romancing John Abraham in Nikhil Advani’s much-awaited Salaam-e-Ishq .
And then in mid-February, Vidya will feature in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s epic drama Eklavya . Saif Ali Khan is her co-star in the movie.
“I am very excited about 2007 as I get to play a variety of roles in a number of films,” Vidya says.
In the New Year, Vidya will also be shooting for three movies, Halla Bol , Hey Baby and ‘Chandramukhi’. Some of these films will hit the theatres in the second half of 2007.
