In spite of being afraid of heights, Ritesh Deshmukh jumped from 750 feet for a movie scene.
Comedy is Ritesh’s forte, not action. Yet the lively young man was game for a dangerous stunt while shooting for director E Niwas’s movie De Taali in New Zealand recently.
For a song sequence in the movie, Ritesh and other stars ( Aftab Shivdasani and Ayesha Takia ) were required to sky dive from a sky-scrapper. Although experts were hired to choreograph the stunt, Ritesh was very nervous before the scene because of his fear of heights.
Standing on the edge of the building, Ritesh says he tried to overcome his fears, took a deep breath and dived.
The safety cable harnessed to Ritesh’s back prevented any mishap and the stunt went fine.
The three stars also shot for another stunt called Reverse Bungee in which they were strapped to a chair and thrown upward against the gravity.
Bravely, Ritesh managed to pull off this stunt as well.
This year Ritesh will be seen in a number of films. He has already shot for Anubhav Sinha’s Cash . He has signed Sajid Khan’s Hey Baby , Indra Kumar’s Dhamaal and Sujoy Ghosh’s fantasy flick called ‘Aladdin’.
And, not to mention, Ritesh has also become expensive for Bollywood producers.
