Dressing up Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has contributed to the making of Namaste London in more ways than one.

Director Vipul Shah hopes to set new cinematic standards with his next movie ‘Namaste London’ which has been completely shot in London with international crew. However, the director did get some headache to get a proper fashion designer for Katrina Kaif’s costumes in the movie.

Initially, Shah roped in a designer from London because the movie is a love story set in the city. The designer, however, designed costumes that were too simple and realistic.

Realizing that Indian movie going audiences seek some glamour in heroines, Shah dropped the London designer. But by then just a week remained for the movie’s shooting to begin.

It was then Katrina’s fashion sense came handy. While Shah asked Indian designer Rocky S to fly to London to do Katrina’s costumes, the beautiful actress herself began shopping for some outfits that she thought would suit her character in the film.

Then, Katrina sat with Rocky S and the two together finalized a number of outfits in just a period of a week. Vipul Shah was more than happy with Katrina and Rocky’s hard work.

Not just in choosing her outfits, Katrina was also very helpful in selecting shooting locations in the film as she has lived in London for many years.

Shah wanted to capture less-explored sites of London in his movie and Katrina showed him a number of places that were eventually included in shooting locations.

‘Namaste London’ has Katrina pairing with Akshay Kumar for the second time after Humko Deewana Kar Gaye .
