Shannon Esrechowitz , the South African actress in Nikhil Advani's movie Salaam-e-Ishq , had her experience of Indian food while shooting the film. 
Knowing in advance that Shannon would not be able to handle spicy Indian food, Nikhil used to order her meals from continental hotels. But, for one scene in the film Shannon was supposed to eat food from a local dhaba. While Nikhil had ordered a special non-spicy meal for Shannon, the actress could not wait and took a bite from her co-star Govinda 's plate, much to her horror. Seeing Shannon eat real Indian food, Nikhil promptly asked his cameraman to shoot the scene. So not just in the film but in reality Shannon ate spicy food and was left red-faced. Shannon's reaction was natural and Nihkil has included that shot in the film. Meanwhile, 'Salaam-e-Ishq' has got mixed reviews from critics. Everyone, unanimously, found the movie too long.
