Saif Ali Khan undergoes angiography

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan Sunday night underwent an angiography after he was admitted to a Mumbai hospital following chest pain and his condition is stable.

Saif has undergone an angiography and his condition is stable, Narendra Trivedi, Vice President of Leelavati Hospital in suburban Bandra, said.

He said the actor is likely to be discharged within the next two days.

Saif, son of yesteryear cricketer Mansur Ali Khan and actress Sharmila Tagore , complained of chest pain just before the Star Dust award function was to begin, sources said.

He was then admitted to Leelavati Hospital, they added.

Saif's sister, Soha Ali Khan , said her brother was fine and was resting presently.

"All the tests have been clear and an angiography has been done. He had some chest pain and admitted himself to the hospital to make sure that everything was fine."

Saif, who was adjudged for the Star Dust award for the best negative role in Omkara , was rehearsing for his dance performance at the award-giving function when he complained of chest pain.

Totally unaware of Saif's ailment, director of ‘Omkara’, Vishal Bharadwaj , had joked while receiving the award for Saif saying, "Saif, I know you are always late for shooting, but I didn't know you would be late for an award function as well. Where are you?"

As news of Saif taking ill and admitted to hospital spread, his sister Soha, Director of Parineeta Pradeep Sarkar , Preity Zinta and Fardeen Khan reached the hospital.

His sister Soha Ali Khan addressed the media late in the night and said that everything was fine with him and there were no reasons to worry.

Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra , who has just directed Saif in Eklavya , also added that doctors had confirmed that he was out of danger and should be out of hospital in a couple of days.

Apart from mother Sharmila and girl friend Rosa, well wishers who arrived at the hospital were Amitabh Bachchan , Sanjay Dutt , Salman Khan , Govinda , Subhash Ghai , Zayed Khan , Aishwarya Rai , Arbaaz Khan , Malaika Arora , Amrita Arora , Farhan Akhtar , Sudhir Mishra , Bunty Walia and Ken Ghosh amongst others.

Saif had undergone an appendicitis operation in a hospital in Kuala Lumpur in March last year when he had gone to Malaysia for the shoot of a commercial.
