HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Despite newfound fame Shilpa Shetty still down-to-earth05th Mar 2007 22.48 IST By Nikhil Kumar The skyrocketing fame Shilpa Shetty has found after winning Britain’s Celebrity Big Brother show hasn’t gone to her head. Despite rising to international fame just over a month back, Shilpa Shetty is still very much grounded and down-to-earth. This is no speculation. This is the assertion of filmmaker Anurag Basu whose movie Metro Shilpa is working in. 
When Shilpa left for Big Brother show, she still had about 9-10 shooting days remaining for ‘Metro’. Although her win did delay the movie by a few weeks, producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Anurag Basu are not cribbing. Last week, Shilpa resumed the shooting of the film in Mumbai. On the first day of shooting, she was greeted with huge applause by the entire unit. Anurag Basu says he sees no change in Shilpa despite her becoming an international celebrity. She still remains the same approachable, back-slapping girl who enjoys fun and laughter. In fact, Shilpa was feeling apologetic to Basu because the movie had been delayed because of her. Basu says this attitude shows that Shilpa is still down-to-earth, the way she was when she left for Big Brother. Shilpa has a few days of shooting left for ‘Metro’. She is presently shooting her scenes with co-star Shiney Ahuja . Meanwhile, the movie’s producers (UTV) are now planning a completely different promotional and distribution strategy for ‘Metro’. A huge premiere for the film is being planned in the UK. Even the Indian release will be more lavish than previously planned. And considering Shilpa’s international fame, the film will be distributed widely in UK and US. The number of prints will reportedly be increased by 30 per cent in the US and 50 per cent in the UK. The shooting of ‘Metro’ is expected to finish in March. The movie will hit the theaters in May.
