Producer Sanjay Gupta is looking forward to sign actress Kareena Kapoor for his movie ‘Chamki Chameli’, which is said to be the Indianized adaptation of Spanish Opera.
The film, to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shyam Benegal , was previously supposed to be made under a different producer. But it has got a new lease of life since Sanjay Gupta took over the project.
Chamki Chameli will now star Sanjay Dutt , Gupta’s good friend and partner in the production company White Feather Films.
Kareena Kapoor is being considered to play the leading role opposite Dutt in the film. However, it is still not clear whether she will be able to do the movie because of her other commitments which include Imtiaz Ali’s film with beau Shahid Kapur and Mani Ratnam’s film with Aamir Khan .
Bebo is learnt to be eager to work with Sanjay Dutt.
