HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Abhishek’s role in 'Shootout' just a cameo! 18th Mar 2007  20.23 IST By ApunKaChoice   Sanjay Gupta’s forthcoming production venture Shootout At Lokhandwala has a huge cast ensemble. The movie, directed by Apoorva Lakhia , is based on the real life shootout between cops and gangsters in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala area way back in the early 90s. The film has an impressive starcast that includes Amitabh Bachchan , Sanjay Dutt , Sunil Shetty , Jackie Shroff , Arbaaz Khan , Abhishek Bachchan , Vivek Oberoi , Tusshar Kapoor and Rohit Roy. However, it is now learnt that Abhishek makes just a brief appearance in the film. The duration of his role spans a little over five minutes. And it is for this very reason Sanjay Gupta and Apoorva Lakhia are in disagreement over whether Abhi should appear on the movie’s promotional posters or not. Gupta, who is close to the Bachchans, doesn’t want to exploit Abhishek’s superstar status to promote his movie and thereby give the audience a wrong impression that Abhi plays a full-fledged role in the film. On the other hand, Lakhia thinks that even though Abhi’s part in the movie is small it is significant to the story. Lakhia is in favour of putting Abhishek on the movie’s posters.
