Despite his superstar status in Hindi film industry, Amitabh Bachchan remains a man of humility and thorough professionalism.
Of late, some malicious stories have been making rounds that Mr. Bachchan threw tantrums when he was not given the Presidential Suite at a hotel in Kolkata where he presently is shooting for Rituparno Ghosh’s movie The Last Lear .
Far from throwing a tantrum, sources say Big B was highly cooperative when he learnt that the Presidential Suite, originally meant for him, was occupied by Preity Zinta , who is one of his co-stars in the film.
Instead of demanding the suite, Big B happily moved into another, less luxurious room of the hotel.
Not just this, Bachchan showed incredible professionalism when a one-day bandh was called in Kolkata recently.
The film’s producers thought that the superstar would welcome a day’s rest from work during the bandh. But Amitabh instead demanded that the shooting should not be held-up because of the bandh.
Responding to Bachchan’s professionalism, Ghosh on that day shot the film in Raichak (on the outskirts of Kolkata) instead.
The movie’s producer Arindham Chaudhary is highly impressed by Bachchan’s professionalism in putting the work before everything else. Even Rituparno Ghosh says he wants to work with Amitabh in at least a dozen more films.
