Ash has stuck by her favourite designer Neeta Lulla (who has designed Ash’s clothes for many movies and public events) to design her wedding dress.
Neeta does admit that she has been assigned the coveted job, but she refuses to divulge anymore details.
“I am very close to Aishwarya. And she doesn’t like anybody discussing her private affairs in public. So I can’t disclose what I am designing for her wedding,” Neeta Lulla is quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Ash’s mother Brinda Rai has roped in Kolkata-based designer Sharbari Datta to design the clothes that will be gifted to Abhishek from the bride’s family.
Sharbari is learnt to have designed traditional Indian dresses like sherwani, achkan, amrakha and shawls for Abhishek. The clothes will be classy and aristocratic.
Sharbari has also been given freedom to choose colours of her own choice, except black which is not considered auspicious in Hindu customs.
As for Abhishek’s wedding dress, the junior Bachchan will reportedly wear a golden sherwani that has been designed by Mumbai based design and tailoring house Kay Sons. In fact, just the fabric of the sherwani has been especially woven by the 400-year-old family of master weavers in Varanasi. The sherwani has already been designed and delivered to the Bachchans.
The marriage between Abhishek and Aishwarya will take place on April 19.
