The production house that was established by the late actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor will now be revived soon.
It has been close to eight years since any movie was made under RK Films banner. It is tragic that the production house that once made classic movies like ‘Shree 420’, ‘Sangam’, ‘Mera Naam Joker’, ‘Prem Rog’, ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ and ‘Heena’ has been in doldrums for the last decade.
But now, actor Rishi Kapoor is planning to revive RK Films. Rishi has plans to produce a film in which his son Ranbir Kapoor will act.
Ranbir will be making his acting debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Saanvariya . The film under RK Films may be his second project.
Earlier, Rishi Kapoor had reportedly approached director Rajkumar Hirani to direct the film. But Hirani doesn’t want to work with any other production house than that of Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
Reports have it that Rishi Kapoor may himself direct the film now.
