Storyline:

Life in a Metro in the present times is no longer what it used to be. Ambition has taken precedence over emotions. Love has taken a backseat to sex. And commitment and honesty have become mere fancy words.

This is the setting of ‘Metro’.

Shikha (Shilpa Shetty) is in a marriage of compromise with her husband Ranjeet (Kay Kay). They have a house but no home. Ranjeet is an entrepreneur having an extramarital affair with Neha (Kangana), his junior.

Neha is a smart girl who has risen in the corporate ladder very fast, thanks to her hard work and also the opportunities given by her boss Ranjeet with whom she is having an affair.

In the same office is Rahul (Sharman Joshi), a call centre executive who has a crush on Neha, his senior.

Neglected by her husband, Shikha gets attracted to a stranger. He is Akash (Shiney Ahuja), a struggling theatre artist who has not been able to get any success in life.

On the other hand, Shikha’s sister Shruti (Konkona) works at a radio station. She is 30 and still a virgin. She is desperate to find a man for herself. She is attracted to a RJ in her studio. She also meets Debu (Irrfan Khan) through a matrimonial site. Although Debu is attracted towards her, she doesn’t like him much.

Things get complicated after Neha asks Ranjeet for a commitment. Rahul’s heart is broken when he figures out that the woman he loves is having a physical relationship with his boss. On the other hand, Shikha finds love in Akash and almost crosses the limit that any married woman sets for herself.

‘Metro’ is produced by Ronnie Screwala. It has music by Pritam. Its story and screenplay is written by Anurag Basu .

The film is slated to hit the theatres on May 11.
