It is common knowledge how Mohit was thrown out from Varma’s ‘Factory’ following two box-office debacles: James and Shiva . Mohit was signed for the role of Jai in Varma’s ‘Sholay’ but was later dropped from the project because he did not suit the role.
Following his exit, doomsayers predicted the end of Bollywood career for Mohit.
Today, Mohit has sprung back into action by bagging a big project. He has reportedly been signed for an important role in the Hindi remake of Tamil hit Ghajini which has Aamir Khan in the lead role.
The film will have Mohit playing a cop. It will be directed by A R Murgadoss, who made the original Tamil film.
South Indian actress Asin (who starred in the original movie) will be Aamir’s heroine in the Hindi remake, too.
What really excites Mohit about this project is the chance to work with Aamir.
Scoffing at his detractors, Mohit says he has been getting several movie offers ever since he left the Varma camp. But he was waiting for the right project.
The ‘Ghajini’ remake with Aamir is the movie he was looking for, says Mohit.
Well, at least Mohit’s derailed acting career is back on the track.
