Actress Dia Mirza is an avid reader of books. And she has quite a taste for fiction.
Though Dia often reads both contemporary and classic authors but the book that recently bowled her over was ‘The Kite Runner’ by Khaled Hosseini. The book is an international bestseller and is set in Afghanistan of 1970s until the Soviet invasion after which the action shifts to America.
“I read this book back to back. And I remember when I finished reading it, I had tears in my eyes. I was deeply moved,” Dia told a news channel.
Dia says she has a desire to meet the book’s author Khaled Hosseini some day.
Khaled Hosseini is a doctor who lives in California. He was born in Afghanistan and lived there with his family until 1980 after which he moved to the US.
Besides Hosseini’s book, Dia is also fond of ‘The Faraway Tree’ books by author Enid Blyton. Dia read these books when she was just a child and she hopes to make a movie on the book someday.
By the way, Dia will be seen this Friday in Apoorva Lakhia’s movie Shootout At Lokhandwala .
