Many times while shooting the songs of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom , the movie’s actors kept dancing and tripping over each other.
In the words of choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, the shooting of the film’s songs was quite eventful. The dance steps required such perfect timing and co-ordination between the actors that even a slight delay would lead to accidents on the sets.
In one such accident, Lara Dutta stepped on the foot of Preity Zinta while shooting a song. To make things worse, Lara was wearing stilettos with long and sharp heels that left a gash on Preity’s foot.
The incident left Preity with a bleeding foot and she had to retire to her vanity van. Lara apologized Preity for the injury. But Preity did not blame Lara for the incident and the two actresses had a good laugh about it.
In another incident, while Preity was shooting with Bobby Deol , just a slight mistiming resulted in Bobby’s big and heavy hand landing on Preity’s delicate cheek.
Preity says she “saw stars in daylight” when Bobby’s Punjab da haath landed on her face.
In yet another incident, Lara Dutta faced embarrassment when her wig came off while dancing for a song with Abhishek Bachchan in front of Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Vaibhavi Merchant says shooting the film’s songs was a fun in itself. She says there was hardly a day when some incident didn’t happen.
Well, this is called fun and work going hand-in-hand.
