John and Bipasha brave the gossip storm

In past few weeks, an obituary of the time-tested relationship between John Abraham and Bipasha Basu has been written in the media.

But the lovebirds seem to be soaring above the hail of media gossip and rumour.

It is not for the first time that the relationship between John and Bipasha has come under media scrutiny. But never before have the couple been assailed by barrage of such gossiptalk that actually began to sound convincing after some time.

First, Bipasha’s friendship with Saif Ali Khan became the grist for gossip mills. Bipasha’s visits to Saif’s house, their dinner-outs together and all this in the absence of John gave rise to immense speculation that the Bengali belle was moving away from John and getting attracted towards Saif.

Then, John’s growing proximity to model Sheetal Menon became fodder for more rumours. John, who had been linked with Vidya Balan not long back in the past, was said to be getting interested in Sheetal.

The unresponsive attitude of both Bipasha (who is quite outspoken) and John to this speculation provided the gossipmongers with further platform to jump to conclusions that a rift was imminent between the two.

But now both John and Bipasha have broken their silence and strongly denied the rumours of their split.

John, who is shooting for Nagesh Kukunoor’s film Aashayein in Pondicherry, says he is “hurt and disturbed” by the speculation of his split with Bipasha. The actor says he is shocked at the amount of animosity shown in media against his relationship with Bipasha.

Bipasha, on her part, has clearly stated that she loves John and John alone.

In fact, Bipasha is going to Pondicherry on June 27 to be with John.

Now at least the rumour mills can rest.
