HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD No friction between Shah Rukh and Chak De director06th Aug 2007 22.00 IST By Aparajita Ghosh Shah Rukh Khan has denied that there ever was a friction between him and director Shimit Amin during the making of Chak De India . Of late, too many stories about friction between Shah Rukh and Shimit Amin have been floating around in the media. Reports alleged that Shah Rukh was unhappy about Amin’s habit of re-shooting a scene many times while making ‘Chak De India’.
On one occasion, it is alleged, SRK even lost his cool, had a heated exchange of words with Amin and walked out of the sets. SRK, however, says there are no bad vibes between him and Amin. In fact, the superstar goes on to say that he did ‘Chak De India’ only because of Shimit Amin and not because it was a Yashraj Film. “Shimit is a good friend and yes, I did this film just for him and not because it is Aditya Chopra's or Yash Raj's films,” SRK is quoted in a media report. SRK says that when Aditya Chopra first approached him with the offer to act in ‘Chak De India’ he turned it down because at that time he was busy with Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Don . About half a year later, when Aditya approached SRK again with the offer, the superstar finally gave his nod because he had dates to spare. ‘Chak De India’ has SRK playing a Hockey coach who was disgracefully removed as a player from the game in his heydays. Years later, he returns to coach a rag-tag bunch of girls in a hockey team. The film tells the story of a coach's fight to make his team, Team India, the best in the world. ‘Chak De India’ will be premiered in London on 9 August at Somerset House and in Los Angeles on 10 August. The film will have its worldwide release coming Friday.
