Actresses Lara Dutta and Soha Ali Khan have been finalized for filmmaker Sudhir Mishra’s modern-day interpretation of ‘Devdas’.
Contrary to the buzz that Rani Mukherjee was being considered for the part of Devdas’s lover Paro in Mishra’s movie, it is Lara Dutta who has reportedly bagged the part.
On the other hand, Soha Ali Khan has been roped in to play Chandramukhi. Shiney Ahuja has already been confirmed for the part of Devdas.
Incidentally, both Soha and Shiney are also the leading actors of Sudhir’s next film Khoya Khoya Chand .
The most interesting thing about Sudhir Mishra ’s ‘Devdas’ is that it won’t be an exact adaptation of Sarat Chandra’s novel. Mishra is giving a political twist to the story.
In his ‘Devdas’, Paro will evolve from a simple, beautiful girl to a politician. Chandramukhi won’t be a dancer but an investment banker.
The movie will be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications.
