Drawing from his experiences, Bhatt has given shape to a story that will bring to light the bitter realities of film world – like casting couch, sexual manipulations and betrayals, and ego tussles.
‘Shohrat – The Dark Side of Fame’ will tell the story of a successful actress whose position is threatened by ambitious new girls in the industry.
Pakistani actress Meera , who has previously acted in duds like Nazar and Kasak , will play the lead role in this film.
Bhatt says he did not offer Meera this role because he wanted to help her revive her acting career in Bollywood, but because she suited the role perfectly.
Although Meera’s male co-star in the film has still not been finalized, reports say Emraan Hashmi and newcomer Muzammil Ibrahim are under consideration. The movie’s shooting is likely to begin by this yearend.
Meanwhile, Meera is looking forward to begin her Bollywood career afresh.
