Salman Khan has deep respect for different faiths and religions.
The actor often depicts his idea of harmony in religions in his paintings. One of his paintings shows profiles of a Mullah and a Brahmin merged together.
And while shooting Samir Karnik’s movie Mera Bharat Mahaan in Leh and Ladakh, a similar side of Salman came to the fore when he decided to visit some old Buddhist monasteries in the region.
Salman and co-star Dino Morea drove on motorbikes to Thiksey and Spituk monasteries. Mithun Chakraborty too joined them by car.
When the trio arrived at the monasteries the monks recognized them and showed them around.
At one monastery the monks asked the stars to chant a long prayer as they were shown around the temple complex. It was a prayer to bring good luck and fortune.
In fact, sources from the film’s unit say Salman transformed into a mellower person during the entire shooting schedule in the inhospitable Leh and Ladakh region.
