The movie, a UTV presentation, is directed by Vivek Agnihotri and has John and Arshad playing footballers.
However, while shooting the film in the UK, John and Arshad had disagreements on many issues, including how a particular scene needs to be enacted.
In an interview, John admits that disagreements existed between him and Arshad, but he calls them “creative differences”.
“Whatever issues we had we sat and discussed. Never did we make our differences personal,” John is quoted as saying.
When asked what the differences were about, John says: “We had some issues about the script. He wanted things to be done in one way, while I wanted in another way.”
And now that the film’s shooting is over, John clarifies that there is no cold war between him and Arshad. He goes on to say that he is in touch with Arshad and would love to work with him in the future.
‘Goal’ has John and Arshad playing footballers in a team of underdogs. Bipasha Basu plays the team’s medic. Boman Irani plays the coach.
