Before shooting his very first song for Saawariya , newcomer Ranbir Kapoor was a bundle of nerves.
Ranbir was aware of the high standards of Sanjay Leela Bhansali when he assisted him during the making of Black . However, facing the camera for a Bhansali film was altogether a different ball game.
Before shooting the song Masha Allah for ‘Saawariya’, Ranbir was very nervous. So he sent a SMS to his dad Rishi Kapoor , asking for help.
Guess what Rishi replied back!
The reply was: “Don't be silly. What are you nervous about? You're a Kapoor! Just smile and sing the song. Don't act like you're singing, just sing it passionately, and everything will turn out okay.”
Ranbir says those confident and assuring words from his father allayed his fears.
In fact, there is a strong Kapoor connection to Ranbir’s character in the film. He is called Ranbir Raj, which was the real name of Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor .
Moreover, Ranbir’s character is styled on similar lines as the character of Raj Kapoor in ‘Shree 420’.
By the way, Ranbir is the first male actor from the fourth generation of the Kapoors.
