It is a double celebration for Indians in the Gulf nation, with two Bollywood films - Saawariya and Om Shanti Om - releasing on the occasion of Diwali.
Many multiplexes in the emirates are running to packed houses as cinema buffs booked their seats in advance to watch both films on the same day, the Gulf News reported.
The tickets for Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Saawariya' were sold out in no time.
"The bookings for this movie started Wednesday evening. In no time, all the tickets were sold out," a salesperson at the Grand Megaplex at Ibn Batuta Mall told the paper.
Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Om Shanti Om' witnessed a similar response from enthusiastic cine-goers who made repeated enquiries to get tickets for the movie.
"The telephone did not stop ringing yesterday with people making enquires whether they stand a chance of getting any tickets. The evening shows are packed full house," said the ticket salesperson at Cine Star-1 at Deira City Centre.
