HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Lisa Ray in a lesbian lovemaking scene!15th Nov 2007 15.00 IST By Nikhil Kumar In her next international movie, Canadian Bollywood actress Lisa Ray plays a Jordanian who falls in love with another woman. The film, titled ‘I Can’t Think Straight’, tells the story of Tala (Lisa Ray) who is about to get married. She meets a young British Indian woman Laila (Sheetal Sheth) in London. As the two women get to know each other they develop a strange affinity. Tala fights against this attraction toward Laila. She even flies back home to marry the man of her parents’ choice, but she realizes that her true feelings are for Laila only.
There is a scene in the film that shows the two women making love. It required nudity from both the actresses. The movie’s director Shamim Shariff wanted authenticity in the shot and therefore she asked Lisa and her co-star Sheetal Sheth to do the scene without using duplicates. The two actresses apparently understood the importance of the scene. Having a female director further helped them make up their minds. Indian cinematographer Aseem Bajaj (who shot Chameli ) canned the shot aesthetically. Reportedly, he was the only male present during the shoot. ‘I Can’t Think Straight’ has been shot in England, Paris and Jordan. Incidentally, Lisa Ray and Sheetal Sheth have also played leading roles in another film titled ‘The World Unseen’.
