The Bachchans to work with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra?

Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wants to cast the Bachchans in his ambitious project ‘Bhairavi’.

Mehra originally planned to make ‘Bhairavi’ right after his first movie Aks . However, the filmmaker got busy with Rang De Basanti and ‘Bhairavi’ was put on the backburner.

After RDB, Mehra announced his next film, a semi-autobiographical flick called Delhi 6 , the cast of which went through many changes for the last one year. Now Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor have been finalized. Such a delay has fueled the speculation that ‘Bhairavi’ has been shelved for good.

But in an agency report, Mehra is quoted as saying that he will make ‘Bhairavi’. Mehra wants to cast Amitabh Bachchan , Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek in the roles of husband, wife and son.

The film’s story will unfold against a world of classical Indian music.

Mehra says Big B and Abhishek have verbally committed to be part of the project.

However, there are skeptics in the industry who cast serious doubts if ‘Bhairavi’ will ever be made.

According to one such skeptic: “It will soon be two years since the release of ‘Rang De Basanti’ and Mehra still has to begin work on his next project ‘Delhi 6’. It looks highly improbable that he would be able to start ‘Bhairavi’ at least for some years to come.”

The skeptics get a benefit of their doubt because Mehra is also said to be toying with the idea of making another movie called ‘Paanch Kaurav’. The film will be a mythical adventure drama.

May be ‘Bhairavi’ will once again be pushed to the backburner.
