Shilpa Shetty promotes Miss Bollywood in London

Cashing on the success of celebrity show Big Brother and her last film Metro , Shilpa Shetty is promoting a new production of the musical Miss Bollywood in London.

Shilpa plays Maya, a naive Indian dancer who decides to invest all of her savings into a Bollywood Dance Academy.

According to the show's website, the 'fun-filled musical is a celebration of Bollywood's kitsch and splendour as well as it's unique brand of humour in a colourful, contemporary and yet cultured representation of Bollywood.'

Renowned choreographer Ganesh Hegde is the man behind the extravagant song sequences while fashion designer Neeta Lulla has done Shilpa's elaborate outfits.

However, Miss Bollywood, which is currently touring the UK, has been panned by critics. The Daily Mail called it an 'ill-conceived, half-baked star vehicle.'

Shilpa was in London's West End to promote the project and joined by fellow cast members, Anousha Dandekar, Wayne Perrey, Nicholas Brown.

Shilpa was dressed in full costume for the photocall (see picture).

The all-dancing stage show, Miss Bollywood' premiered first in Germany and has since been on tour around the UK.

"We've just finished Glasgow and we are heading towards Birmingham and I am quite excited to perform on December 12, because we are going to be doing our last show at the Royal Albert Hal - It's such a huge honour and privilege. So, when you come in and talk about Miss Bollywood and you see the reception you get here, it's just amazing because I think this is truly one of the first for the Bollywood fraternity to get this kind of reception from the mainstream," said Shilpa.

Miss Bollywood is at the Royal Albert Hall, London on December 12.
