After creating a huge buzz in India, the John Abraham , Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi starrer Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal has scored a goal of a different kind.

UTV, the makers of 'Goal', have done what other Bollywood filmmakers have failed to do - secure a simultaneous release for the film in cinema halls in neighbouring Pakistan.

'Goal', which released in seven cities of Pakistan, including Lahore and Karachi, along with the rest of the World on Friday, has thus become the First Indian film to have a day and date release in Pakistan.

The film, directed by Vivek Agnihotri and also starring Boman Irani , was released worldwide on Friday.

The Pakistani release for the film came after the producers, on Thursday evening, received a clearance from the Pakistan Censor Board to release the film in the neighbouring country, UTV sources said.

In Pakistan the film releases with 12 prints across Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala.

The release of 'Goal' in Pakistani theatres makes it the fifth Indian film and the second mainstream film, after the Emraan Hashmi starrer Awarapan , to secure a theatrical release in Pakistan.

Earlier, in July this year, 'Awarapan', directed by Mohit Suri , became the first mainstream film to get a release in theatres in Pakistan. However, the Pakistani release for 'Awarapan' came a week after its theatrical releases across the world.

Other films that have in the last couple of years managed to secure a release in Pakistani theatres are K Asif's 50s classic 'Mughal-e-Azam', Akbar Khan's 'Taj Mahal - an Eternal Love Story' and 80s hit 'Sohni Mahiwal'.

'Goal', a contemporary story of the Asian community in UK, told through the dynamic prism of professional football, has created a tremendous buzz in India, more so in the wake of the stupendous response to the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chak De India .

Like 'Chak De India', 'Goal' is also being seen as another "coming-of-age" sports film expected to create a buzz for the much-neglected game of football in the country.

'Goal', which released worldwide yesterday, had glittering premieres in Dubai and Mumbai earlier this week.

In Dubai, the film premičred on November 21 at Grand Cineplaxi. The sparkling evening radiated with the presence of John, Bipasha and Agnihotri as they walked the red carpet.
