HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Sanjay Dutt prayed to Lord Hanuman in jail30th Nov 2007 17.30 IST By ApunKaChoice When in jail, actor Sanjay Dutt used to spend hours praying to Lord Hanuman. Dutt has always been a God fearing person but he never showed such devotion as he did in the last few months. While doing his time behind bars in Pune’s Yerwada Jail, Dutt found solace and peace of mind in prayers.
Dutt’s companion in jail, Yusuf Nullwala, has revealed that the actor used to recite Hanuman Chalisa at least hundred times every day. And his prayers seem to have been answered as he was released from prison yesterday after getting bail from Supreme Court. Yusuf Nullwala also discloses a ‘small miracle’ that happened when he and Dutt got bail last time on August 20. “He used to read Hanuman Chalisa every day without failure. Then one day we saw two monkeys on a tree in the jail compound. We wondered how they got in because the prison walls are so high. Sanjay felt it was a sign from Lord Hanuman. He then offered a banana to the monkeys. Though other inmates had also offered fruits but the monkey took only Sanju’s banana. It was then Sanju told me that something good with happen. And it actually happened that we got interim bail,” Nullwala told a news channel. Not just lord Hanuman, Dutt has shown his devotion towards many other Gods, Godesses and deities. The actor is also a firm believer in astrology. Well, from that perspective the planetary configuration seems to be in his favour nowadays.
