Anil and Nana epitomize the chemistry between two dons

Dons and gangsters have probably never been so funny and endearing as the two senior stars of Bollywood make them in this Friday’s release Welcome .

They are like two swords symbiotically cast inside one scabbard. They don’t rattle, but would surely make you chortle with their tongue-in-cheek humour. Such is the chemistry between the two gangster brothers played by Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar in Anees Bazmee’s latest comedy ‘Welcome’.

The film has Nana playing a dreaded don named Uday Shetty and Anil plays his younger brother Majnubhai. The two bhais try to play matchmakers for their beloved sister, Katrina Kaif , who falls for a seedha saadha ladka played by Akshay Kumar .

Such immense is said to be the chemistry between Nana and Anil in the film that they have even decided to promote the film together.

At a promotional event on Tuesday, the two actors shared remarkable camaraderie as they spoke about the film.

Referring to Nana, Anil said: “He plays a dashing, handsome don with 40-pack abs. And the way he dances can give anyone a complex.”

Nana, who was his usual eccentric self, kept nodding and adding a few words in between.

When asked if ‘Welcome’ was a copy of Hollywood film ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’, Anil said: “You see in India we have fantastic English. I remember myself watching English films in my youth without understanding many of its dialogues...So we decided that we will tell the story (of Mickey Blue Eyes) in Hindi.”

At this point, the eccentric Nana took over and said: “Yes, we decided to tell a story that we ourselves did not understand. See, how tough it was.”

Well, we get the hang of their chemistry in the film.
