It is yet another case of art imitating life. Akshay Kumar ’s life story has now become the subject of one of his upcoming films.
The movie in question is director Nikhil Advani’s ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ (previously titled Made In China ) in which Akshay plays a cook in Chandni Chowk whose other passion is to practice martial arts. The cook then goes to China to learn martial arts and returns back to Mumbai to teach it.
Now if we put Akshay’s life story in focus, we will see the parallels. It is common knowledge that Akshay worked as a cook in Bangkok before coming to Mumbai. The actor is a Delhiite, born in Chandni Chowk, and his ancestral home is still there. On top of it, who doesn’t know of Akshay’s passion for martial arts?
Speaking to a tabloid, Akshay has admitted that the story of ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ has a resemblance to his own life. However, the story has been treated in a light-hearted way to add humour to the film.
Akshay has also been giving his own inputs to the script that has been written by Sridhar Raghavan.
Akki has learned different forms of martial arts like Wushu and Parkour for his role in the film. The actor claims it would be the best action-adventure film to have come out of Bollywood.
